Booking Conditions & Privacy Policy
GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS & DATA PROTECTION
Effective: April 1, 2026



DEFINITIONS
Guest: Any person who books or uses accommodation at Hotel Garni Keil.
Contracting Party: Hotel Garni Keil as provider and the guest as customer.
Accommodation Contract: The contract by which the hotel is obliged to provide the agreed accommodation and the guest is obliged to pay the agreed price.


CONSUMER VS. ENTREPRENEUR
Consumer: Any natural person who concludes a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither commercial nor self-employed professional activities.
Entrepreneur: Any natural or legal person who concludes a legal transaction within the scope of their commercial or self-employed professional activities. The rights and obligations under these T&Cs are governed by the provisions of the Austrian Consumer Protection Act, insofar as the guest acts as a consumer.



1. GENERAL TERMS AND BOOKING CONDITIONS


SCOPE OF APPLICATION
These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all bookings, reservations, and stays at Hotel Garni Keil in Kleinarl. They form the binding basis for all contractual relationships between the accommodation provider and guests.

Applicable statutory provisions shall apply in addition.


GENERAL TERMS FOR OFFERS AND BOOKINGS
1. Non-binding nature of offers and validity period
All offers provided by Hotel Garni Keil are non-binding and without obligation. Unless otherwise stated, offers are valid for 48 hours from the time of transmission. After this period, the room or package cannot be guaranteed.

2. Transmission of offers and liability for delivery issues
Offers and booking documents are generally sent by email. No guarantee is given that electronic messages will actually reach the recipient (e.g., due to spam filters, technical issues, or incorrect email addresses provided by the guest). No liability is accepted for resulting disadvantages.

3. Deposit and booking confirmation
Hotel Garni Keil is entitled to request an appropriate deposit to secure the booking. The amount and due date of the deposit are specified in the respective offer or booking confirmation. The booking is considered confirmed only upon timely receipt of the deposit. If payment is not received on time, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the reservation without further notice and reassign the room.

4. Written form
Offers, reservations, and booking confirmations are generally made in written form, especially via email.


DEPOSIT, PAYMENT DEADLINE, REMAINING PAYMENT AND PAYMENT METHODS
A deposit of 50% of the total amount (including all taxes and fees) is required upon booking, unless otherwise stated in the offer. The deposit must be paid within 15 days from the booking date. The actual receipt of payment at Hotel Garni Keil is decisive.
If the deposit is not paid on time, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the booking without further notice and reassign the room.
The remaining balance must be transferred to the bank account specified in the booking offer or confirmation no later than 7 days before arrival.
Payments are only possible by bank transfer. Payment on site by credit card or cash is not provided unless otherwise agreed in individual cases.


CHANGES TO SERVICES AND PRICES
Descriptions of rooms, packages, and other services of Hotel Garni Keil, as well as stated prices, have been prepared with the utmost care. Nevertheless, changes in prices or scope of services may be required. In such cases, the hotel will inform guests immediately.
In case of discrepancies between the website, offer, and booking confirmation, the information in the booking confirmation shall be binding. Obvious errors, e.g., printing or calculation errors, may be corrected by the hotel.
Price changes up to 30 days before arrival may occur, for example, due to new or increased taxes, fees, or changes in exchange rates for services billed in foreign currency. If price increases exceed 10% of the originally agreed price, the hotel will inform guests immediately. In such cases, guests have the right to withdraw from the contract or agree on a booking adjustment.


PAYMENT METHODS
The preferred and only possible payment method is bank transfer. Bank details are sent automatically with the booking confirmation by email.
Other payment methods, such as card or cash on site, are generally not provided. Any exceptions must be clarified with the hotel in advance. Any additional fees will be communicated to the guest beforehand.


SERVICES INCLUDED IN THE BOOKING PRICE
The price stated in the offer or booking confirmation includes all usual ancillary costs, particularly water, sewage, electricity, heating, bed linen and towel service, and final cleaning.
Hotel Garni Keil reserves the right to adjust ancillary costs, e.g., due to official changes, inflation, or increased energy prices.


ANCILLARY COSTS
The local tax applies to persons aged 15 and over and is charged per person per night. It must be paid together with the remaining payment before arrival. Changes or increases due to municipal regulations are reserved.


CANCELLATION POLICY AND FEES
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to info@keil.at. Cancellation fees are time-dependent according to Austrian regulations:
  • From booking until 3 months before arrival: €50 processing fee
  • 3 months to 1 month before arrival: 40% of the package price
  • 1 month to 1 week before arrival: 70% of the package price
  • Last week before arrival: 90% of the package price
  • From 2 days before arrival: 100% of the package price
  • No-show or early departure: 100% of the package price
A travel cancellation insurance is recommended to cover unforeseen circumstances.

Direct bookings: Special summer/winter cancellation policy (01.04.2026–28.11.2030):
  • Free cancellation until 30 days before arrival
  • From 29 days before arrival, no-show, or early departure: 100% of the package price
Refunds made between booking and 1 month before arrival are subject to a €50 handling fee, automatically deducted from the refund.



TRAVEL CANCELLATION INSURANCE

TERMINATION OF ACCOMMODATION CONTRACT BY THE HOTEL
Hotel Garni Keil is entitled to terminate the accommodation contract with immediate effect for good cause, e.g., force majeure or other extraordinary circumstances, such as natural events, official orders, strikes, epidemics, or comparable situations that make contract fulfillment impossible. Already paid amounts will be fully refunded.
The hotel may also withdraw from the contract if the agreed deposit is not received on time despite a written payment request and an appropriate grace period.
Additionally, the hotel reserves the right to withdraw from the contract within 48 hours of booking without giving reasons. Payments already made will be fully refunded.


COMPLAINTS AND LIABILITY
Any complaints during the stay must be reported immediately to the hotel on-site. If not reported in time, claims cannot be considered.
The hotel will attempt to rectify defects within a reasonable time. If this is not possible or reasonable, a room change may be offered, depending on availability.
If proven at fault, and the defect is not remedied, guests are entitled to a reasonable reduction in the agreed price. Further compensation claims are excluded as far as legally permissible. Information provided in offers, booking documents, and descriptions is given to the best of knowledge. Minor deviations not significantly affecting the stay are exempt from liability.



LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL BELONGINGS, VEHICLES, AND WIFI
The hotel is liable for guests' belongings according to legal regulations. Liability for valuables, cash, and other valuables applies only if stored in the designated safe or explicitly handed in for safekeeping.
Parking and WLAN use are at the guest’s own risk. The hotel is not liable for vehicle damage, theft, or internet-related issues except where legally required.



2. HOUSE RULES


CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT
Check-in: 15:00–20:00, check-out: until 10:00. Early check-in or late check-out is possible only by prior arrangement. Additional fees may apply.


MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Rooms may only be occupied as stated in the booking confirmation. Extra persons require prior approval and may incur additional charges.


PETS
Pets are allowed only by prior agreement and incur €16 per night per pet (excluding food). Pets must not sit on furniture and must be hygienically kept. Damages caused by pets will be charged to the guest. Proof of liability insurance may be requested.


LIABILITY AND DEPOSIT
No deposit is required. Guests are responsible for damage due to misuse or negligence. Household or liability insurance is recommended.


QUIET HOURS
22:00–07:00. Noise and parties disturbing other guests are prohibited. Repeated disturbances may lead to warnings or early termination of the stay without refund.


ROOM CONDITION UPON DEPARTURE
Rooms must be left clean. Additional cleaning fees may be charged for significant mess or damage.


SMOKING BAN
Strictly no smoking indoors. Designated outdoor areas only. Violations may incur cleaning costs.


FIRE SAFETY
Smoke detectors are installed and must not be tampered with.


SNOW REMOVAL
Driveways, sidewalks, and parking lots are cleared regularly. Guests should exercise caution in winter conditions.

 
USE OF GARDENS AND OUTDOOR AREAS
Use is at guests’ own risk. Children must be supervised.


CHILD SAFETY
Parents/guardians are responsible for children at all times.


BABY BEDS
Guests must inform the hotel of required baby beds at booking. Limited availability: 4 beds total.


OTHER OBLIGATIONS
Sporting equipment and outdoor shoes must be stored in designated areas. Windows and doors must be closed when leaving the room.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOR
Respectful conduct is required. Disturbances may lead to exclusion without refund.
